Sam & Rhys
Grain and Frame was first thought up by Sam and Rhys.
Rhys had a dream of launching his own bespoke furniture shop – fascinated by unique hardwoods at local sawmills and the vast amount of steel manufacturing capabilities in the UK, he knew the potential of pairing them together could make something very special.
It was during this time he met Sam; Lead Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations. He was responsible for vehicle accessories for three new models, ranging from luxury carpet mats to rear-seat entertainment systems. A firm friendship was made over a shared passion for design and manufacturing.
They founded Grain and Frame together and now have multiple workshops situated in the heart of England, the West Midlands.
Our process
We only use the highest quality of sustainable solid wood for our products, fully certified by PEFC. We have multiple UK workshops for furniture making, finishing, metal fabrication and upholstery, as well as CNC machining. This allows us to offer customers the whole process, from the selection of the best raw materials right through to final installation in your home or commercial setting.

At Grain and Frame, we have a highly skilled team with a shared passion for furniture making. From our metal fabricators to our woodworkers, our craftsmen care deeply about making high-quality furniture. We believe that this care and attention allows us to make beautiful pieces of solid furniture that could never be replicated by mass production.

At its core, Grain and Frame is a design-led company. With Sam’s background in product design engineering, it has shaped our main ethos and values. All our products are thoughtfully designed for functionality and long-lasting charm, and made to the highest possible standard.
At Grain and Frame, we work with a range of interior designers on high profile bespoke commercial projects, as well as having our own furniture collection.
