“When we first saw the table, we just couldn’t believe it, we’ve never seen anything like it before. Wood grains and knots come in all shapes and sizes…but we’d never expect one to look like a penis!
It certainly puts the wood in woodworking.”
Why Testicular Cancer?
Rhys Shackell-York, Co-Founder at Grain and Frame, said:
It’s not something you see everyday and certainly not something our customers would expect when receiving one of our tables. That’s when we thought it would be a great idea to use this as an opportunity to raise some money for a good cause – and Orchid Cancer seemed like an apt choice. My close friend Nick was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer when he was 18-years old. He had just started his first year at university when he had to put his course on hold for life-saving treatment. Luckily he beat the disease and is in good health now, but it was a really tough time for him and his friends and family, so we want to help raise much needed funds and awareness. There’s got to be someone out there who would love this in their home – it’s certainly a conversation starter, that’s for sure.
